I’m going to be tackling an incredible adventure as I join forces with other fundraisers to hike Yorkshire’s three highest peaks in under 12 hours!
We’re working together to raise £20,000 to go towards Arbonne’s Charitable Foundation, whose mission is to support vulnerable teens. They work closely with programmes and opportunities that promote the development of confidence and self esteem in teenage girls and boys.
When: 17 – 19 June 2016
What: Hiking up Yorkshire’s toughest 3 Peaks
Why: No young child should be without a home, a support system, a sense of self-confidence. We’re going to make a difference.
How: Get involved by joining me or sponsoring me
The challenge is taking place from the 17th to the 19th of June this year, and is coordinated by Maximum Adventure.
The total distance is 37km/23 miles. The ascent is 1381m/4531ft. We’ll be hiking up the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough but will spend less time in transit between peaks than the traditional 3 Peaks Challenge, and we’ll be attempting to take alternative routes that cause less damage to the already well-trodden paths.
So what makes this such a demanding challenge? Besides hiking up three of the most challenging peaks in Yorkshire in under 12 hours, I will have to do loads of cardio, core-strength training and of course general strength training.
Not to mention all the uphill hiking!
Pilates training is ideal for preparing for this kind of challenge, so I’m really excited to be taking part and pushing myself to the limits all for a good cause. SO: you’ve guessed it I am asking you to join me and let’s help change someone’s life with Arbonne’s Charitable Foundation! There are two ways you can get involved:
– Dust off your hiking boots and take part in the challenge! Can you tackle 3 of Yorkshire’s highest peaks in under 12 hours for a good cause ? We can train together in a weekly class if we have enough people sign up (minimum of 6).
– Sponsor me on my justgiving page and help make a difference by giving what you can and helping to raise £20,000 for Arbonne’s Charitable Foundation.
