I could barely lift my legs on the side work. It is weird how sometimes I can but like you said, it just depends on the day, maybe.
Oh, interesting. Have you been doing other glutes/leg exercises? It could be core/oblique too that’s the issue as they are working/stretching as you do the lifts. Or being up on the forearm.
Some days, it can feel much harder to do a certain movement. I know if I have done a lot of exercise, my legs can feel heavier than normal and my flexibility and strength are massively effected. Sometimes it means keeping the lifts smaller, or it means lying all the way down.
Hormones also affect your ability to do the movements a lot and a lot of things affect hormones. On those days, go easier on yourself. No point forcing the body (even if you know you normally can do it).
